I can remember near the end of 2000 recalling how differantly she was using her voice ('Come On Over' being the obvious example)and not liking it
at all. This was obviously her changing her style to the vocals of Stripped, which she has stuck with ever since. It dosent sound natural or healthy for
her voice at all.
And I find it really unlikeable on the ear. Honestly, your supposed to enjoy music. Its supposed to be pleasant and melodic. Everytime I listen to
Christina it makes my ears bleed, she just dosent sound 'pleasant' musically.
she used to be BEARABLE. I have her KGB(just for nostalgia) & first album(but that's all I am willing to pay for-until she sings in her
natural voice if it still exists). I was convinced she was the new MC at the time(boy was I wrong). I remember the stripped tour being cancelled, and it was
because she misused her voice, and had to take vocal rest. I like her all the way up to that Infatuation performance in 2002. Everything since has been so
contrived. I have heard every English album track she has had to offer, and it seems she's trying to destroy her voice.
Its hard to believe it now, but yes, she once had a very technically competant voice. Listening to her vocals on GIAB and then Stripped onwards is very
jarring. Ironically, she wants to sing like that which I dont get. Does she think it makes her sound more raw and real, or whatever pretencious twaddle
she'd come up with?
