I think we all assume that Mariah will take a break and it is possible if she has a baby. But after considering how quickly she is putting out Memoirs, I think we underestimate her passion for making music. It's in her blood and she clearly loves what she does. I think Mariah will become bored if she doesn't keep making music.

I can see a new Mariah album every 2 or 3 years until she is 60 TBH.

I don't think making music is much of an effort for her. On the other hand, touring and promotion is. I can see her still making albums but with less promotional tours. Even with a baby Mariah will churn those albums out.
I can see that too. Even if she has a baby, I don't see her leaving the music scene for more than two years. She draws inspiration for songs from her own life and if she has a baby, she'll have so much to write about that she'll be itching to get back in the studio as soon as the baby is stable.

And I agree that making music isn't much of an effort for her. She'll probably remain actively recording for a long time, but her promo will be less and less. She'll eventually become like the other older divas who push out albums with little to no promo or appearances and continue to sell on the strength of their fanbase alone.

And as much as it pains me to give Nick some credit, I think he probably had something to do with Mariah embracing an angelic self-image. He probably boosted her own confidence enough to where she doesn't feel unworthy of being called an angel, but her own insecurity still crept in enough to place the "imperfect" in front of that title.
