This is just my opinion but I think the reason that EMC2 was not nominated for any Grammys was because she ditched the 70s soul tracks and live instruments
on this album. I think the reason why TEOM won best contemporary album was because of tracks like Mine Again, Your Girl, Circles and Fly Like a Bird. She
didn't win the Grammy for tracks like ILT and SIO. The Grammys award those artists who are perceived to be in tune with musical history (see Alicia Keys)
and hark back to the eras when most voters were teenagers.
More modern music tends to get overlooked. There are always exceptions to the rule but in general I think this is the case. This is why I was initially
surprised that EMC2 totally ditched the sound that made TEOM work. Not because I want her to win Grammys but because it made the album sound very organic and
because it is a sound that totally works for Mariah. TEOM was a perfect mix of past sounds with contemporary R&B. EMC2 is also a great album but sounds
too samey with all the synthesisers and beats.
So I wish on the next album she returns to the live instrument organic sounds of TEOM at least for a few tracks. As much as I love EMC2 I would prefer more
tracks like Circles and less tracks like ISIL. And who knows she might even get back into the Grammy's good graces again.

Keep dreaming.
Mariah needs to do whatever music she is feelling at time time. F*ck the Grammy's. I don't buy this as a reason for her not getting any noms. Not. at.
all.
I am sure she'd love another, but I hope she stops trying to kiss their a$$es, because it's a waste of her time.
