First off I love E=MC2. It's a great album.

Secondly, I don't see Mariah releasing an album. For some reason I do believe she is pregnant.

Third, I don't think anybody is really going to be a threat to anybody in terms of sales. I want to go on record and say the biggest record of 09 will scan maybe 2 million from January to December. Judging by the Fourth Quarter sales this year I don't even know if you can depend on that for a sales boost. Under ordinary circumstances you could debut with 725 to 800 thousand to maybe a million and we have seen that not really happen with the releases of some key albums by some big names Fourth Quarter this year. I mean you have to be really careful. (Sidenote: Keyshia Cole is kicking herself. She thought she was going to do a million this season and has said so in many interviews leading up to her release that she was trying to do big numbers but all she could get was 322 k)

Therefore, I think it may be wise for an artist of Mariah Carey's caliber to sit it out for a year and have a life, but look at the direction the industry is heading, just to get a gage of what you need to do to comeback and compete in an industry that is going through a rapid decline.

Did Cole really say that? image Who on earth put such crazy thoughts into her head? lol Am I missing something here because even at her best, I've never known Cole to have big numbers. Why would she be so publically about deluded about hitting them is beyond me.

Yes Keyshia Cole said that on BET numerous times dating back to this summer when she stopped by promoting The Game's single, in magazine interviews that the album was being strategically released during the holidays because she felt she could sell a million records.

And her first week sales were never really those big numbers. Her best was 250,000 prior to the 323,000 she did with her new album of uninspired crap released soley for sales featuring a 2 year old first single that appeared on a Tupac compilation album. HEr first album although it went platnium it wasn't helped by her lackluster first week sales.

But she strategically released the album to get a big first week and it didn't happen.

Bloody hell....ego over common sense then image
