rebirth -- it only supports your argument cuz you want it to

madonna coadf was a FLOP in the U.S -- just like CB was a flop for Mariah

Madonna is a legend and always will be -- but she is not relevant on the American music scene -- which isn't saying much because American radio is so fickle.

but trying to prop up COADF's sales is silly -- it flopped. Considering that it sold roughly only 500K more than CB while CB had NO HIT SINGLE to speak of says a lot more about Mariah's relevance and her devoted fanbase.

so CB's 1.2 million with no hit and COADF's 1.7 mi with Hung Up -- basically both diva's fan base picked up the albums and have about the same amount of people who will buy just for the name brand. only an extra 500K picked up maybe cuz they liked Hung Up.

TEOM on the other hand is a more successful album. period. the u.s is the first gauge of an albums' success(for an AMERICAN artist) The U.S market is so much bigger than Europe. and Madonna's other singles didn't exactly blow up in europe either... Hung Up is the only significant thing to talk about.

this era looks like it will be much of the same. 4 minutes will make a splash cuz of sales and loyalty airplay ... but its not gonna last.

e=mc2 is gonna burn through to 2009...
