The single was a huge download hit, the album sold 2 million copies despite no radio hit, and she sold out a huge arena tour charging hundreds of dollars per ticket. That's relevance. It says a lot that even though radio chose not to play her, people still made her album one of the bigger sellers of the year and went out in droves to watch her perform.

COADF scanned 1.6 million copies despite no radio hit: if she doesn't have radio hits, she's not relevant (IMO). Rihanna's first 3 albums have sold around 3 million copies (if that!) in the US, and I consider her relevant. It depends on your definition of relevancy. When I'm talking about Hot 100 relevancy, Madonna is quite irrelevant to me. At least she used to.

But I agree with you, she's a fantastic entertainer/touring artist and no one can beat her in that matter.

Anyway, this thread is about TMB. I definitely don't wanna be bothered by some random posters.

That's because this all got blown out of proportion. My original point was that Madonna is not selling downloads just because Justin Timberlake is featured on her song. I'd give you that when it comes to airplay, but also credit that she's putting out a hip-hop song instead of a disco song this time around which is a hell of a lot more appealing to US audiences. My main point though is that Madonna was not totally irrelevant with her last album. Was it a huge success for her in the US? No. But the extremists who are saying she wouldn't even be charting without Justin Timberlake are simply delusional.
