Not to burst your bubble, but it's all relative. It went to #1 ahead of all the other big radio hits at the same, and hung around long enough to sell over 500k downloads during a time that you yourself just admitted wasn't a huge time for downloads.

OF course it did. People only bought her single, and not that horrible unlistenable album. It's the same thing with Rihanna. The single (at least Rihanna had more than one LMAO!) blows up 'cause it's easier to spend 99cents instead of $10.00 - in the end, Madonna lost in the US.

So what'd she do? Grabbed Timbaland and JT, because she knows she's not relevant in the US on radio. If it wasn't for her fanbase buying the singles (the same crazed fans that spend $300 - $2,000 to see this woman on tour) her songs wouldn't even chart.
