Just because you can sing it over it doesn't mean that it's copying it. I can sing the hook of 'Heartbreaker' over virtually
anything, does that mean it's copying every song? Many songs follow a typical chord structure which means that they can often be "mashed
together". This is especially true with songs that contain loops, such as 'Touch My Body' or 'We Belong Together'.
Truth is I don't think 'WBT' and 'TMB' are similar in anything other than tempo. 'WBT' is a very simple song, with one
vocal through the whole thing, where as 'TMB' has a lot of layers. 'TMB' has a more diverse structure, too with a pre-chorus and
bridge. 'WBT' has neither of those.
Also, 'WBT' is sung in a very low register througout, and then octaved up for the belting finale. 'TMB' doesn't do that...
They're
Well the both follow the same damn short structure where you barely hear the chorus 3 times before its freaking done! LOL
And that's the reason both songs have so many spins on my playcount
I think they deliberately leave people wanting more, it worked for 'WBT' I
hope it works for 'TMB'
I dont think its goona work here....the ending of WBT was pretty dramatic and made you want more but you still felt like the song was finished
as well. With TMB...when it ends and the sound starts getting softer I'm like WTF!!! Cause ive just started to feel the groove. The remix that dude did
over the Umbrella track really doeos it for me because u get the chorus coming around at the end and u get to groove for a while.
But is that just because you're a Mariah fan, and love the big belting bits, though? I mean, do the general public really love it that much? Most
people I know that aren't fans actually find the super-high belting parts at the end a turnoff.
Great point, man.
I don't see why every Mariah song has to be so vocally dramatic. I wonder if she thinks that expectation of her is hilarious, because I do. Not every song
calls for that.
