I was hoping that letter was either be some kind of explanation about whats going on or that he was standing down. Something conclusive. Instead, its basically leaving us no wiser and lumped with another poorly written rant. I don't know why he started raving about him being a producer either. No one is questioning his ability as a producer (which, knock him all you want but he's proven himself there time and again). His efforts as manager however.........

Pretty telling that JD is speaking out and not Mariah...

That's what happens when you wake up one morning and decide you're gonna premiere a song on The Breakfast Club and your label don't know nothing about it. indifferent.gif

Yep. Beginning of the end

It's useless to attack Jermaine the way the lambs do. The important part is the final line: "everything that you questioned will be answered ASAP"
We KNEW there was something up. This isn't about the quality of the record or Mariah's relevance. I'm just hoping that it's not a health issue.

doubt he'd be referring to anything personal to mariah (marriage, health, etc). its prolly to do with the label.

While I am sure there are issues between Mariah and the label, for JD to act like he has done nothing bad/wrong is ludicrous smiley: laugh Whose idea was the rogue "TAOLG" release with that lame facebook deal? Who dropped "Thirsty" to radio without backing? Who is running all of this mess on twitter? Who is a terrible negotiator? OMG he's the worst!!!!

I think soon or later we gonna find out what actually really happened between Mariah and her label.

Don't we already know? I mean, we know a release date was set multiple times and not met (not only this era, but for previous albums). We know they have a difference of opinion on several singles (going back to "Triumphant" for this era, but perhaps even with previous albums).

What is it that we don't know?

It sucks to be JD. Even if he's messed up it's not a good feeling for your flaws and lack of qualifications being thrown at your face daily. If someone gave me constant negative feedback at my job I would break. But no matter what he does he'll be dismissed as being unqualified to manage her. It's so confusing...how much control does he really have over stuff? Is he more of her business & music partner than a real manager? It should be obvious to her by now she can't have a friend manage her. She can't surround herself with friends all the time

Unfortunately she can, and she does. She admitted on that NBC special that she copes by putting up walls and walking away. She's going to do what she wants, and will answer to no one, or she will shut down.

It's so interesting. In her journey to gain independence and become a strong individual she's gotten completely lost in it. Now that she's fought for independence and has shown people who is boss, she needs to really learn to let go and compromise. It's so challenging because it's clear that there are a lot of personal and psychological reasons for a person of importance being difficult to work with. A lot of great artists have been known to be difficult to work with or be around. It's all a coping mechanism to protect themselves and their vulnerable true selves from getting hurt. It's easy to take shots at a person like that but it's just proof of a warrior that has wounds. It reminds me of Marlon Brando who refused to take roles after awhile, refused to accept awards due to political reasons, and he hated dieting for movies for the longest time. He even would show people who was boss during interviews by taking complete control of the interview and not answering anything that was being asked to him. He blamed the film industry for many different things and it seems it was all a psychological mechanism to protect himself and be strong so that others do not think you can be toyed with. I think Mariah is having a similar experience and it's all a mental battle. BUT when you work in an industry that is all about connections, money, and lies then who knows what a person must do to have a career of longevity and be "normal". No one can be normal when they aren't living a normal life. Mariah is just very very human and has been through a lot. I think it would help if she continues therapy (I dunno if shes stopped...or started...or w/e..) because I think with the right person to speak to and guide you a lot of improvement can be made. Mariah's strong- she'll be fine. No matter what woman she evolves into in the end she'll never lose the heart of her

Tacky and very distasteful. Not even remotely funny.  Chris Lighty was a good man.  Shame on you.  Ans that had NOTHING to do with Mariah.  maybe you should invest in some real comedy classes.  maybe you'll pick something up
