I'm just extremely tired of how messy everything has been the last 5 years. It's hard stanning for someone who doesn't really seem to care.

Not as long as she keeps dropping some throwback moments from what made her so great in the beginning! Plus there's some gold moments in her newer discography in between the roughness!

I voted YES.

In a way I'm over the fact that she's been stuck post-TEOM musically and performance-wise. It's like she doesn't care about her legacy anymore, like she's not motivated to improve herself.

On the other hand, I'm fairly sure I'll never stop stanning just because I still feel the excitement over her new music. Even though it's always handled messy and it brings us back to the first point. UGH

Frustrated with this album campaign? Yes.

Over Mariah? Hell to the !@!*#!+ NO. I love her way too much and her music is a source of joy in my life, so I could never really get over her.

Never. I also love Whitney Houston a lot. And even when it took her eight years between I'm Your Baby Tonight and My Love Is Your Love, I kept on being a fan. Yes, she did record songs in between those albums, but like many other fans I was waiting like forever till a complete new studio album would be released.

Are you over Mariah?

I honestely don't hyperventilate for the lack of news or new music. Or even if she flops. When new music appears, I will be grateful to enjoy it as it is and maybe I hope to be amazed like I was when I first heard HATE U or #B. YES, she could still have another #1... I will also admit that I'm recovering from chart addiction lol, but I truly prefer to love/enjoy her music rather than her having mainstream success.

However, Mariah has had such a huge impact in my life. I can spend months listening casually and effortlessly to her songs/albums. Her blueprint in my life has been left and I'm positive it will remain there until the day I die. A little bit dramatic, yes, but that's how I see it. So yeah, I will always stan for her, no matter how much out of touch she may become or how poorly her career is handled. I'm grateful for what she's given to me :)

I voted No. But I'm actually voting No*.

*I'm still here, I'm not over the music. I love so much of her music, even in her "drought" post 2005, I love about half of E=MC2 (and like a few more songs, only a couple I skip), the majority of Memoirs, and MCIIY is divine. #Beautiful is one of my favorite MC singles in years, and one of my favs of this year period. However, I don't "follow her" like I used to in between albums much, due to push backs, things that never happen, disappointments. I follow other artists more even if I like their music less. Does that make sense? It's not a horrible thing, Mariah has much more going on in her life now (husband, kids, enjoying life after a very prolific music career), and music doesn't seem as high of a priority as it used to be. That's fine of course, but I've also lost interest in all the little tidbits and pieces of news. I'm anticipating new music from Mariah, but I kind of have a "I'll get it when it gets here" mentality.

Y'all who answered yes should be BURNED!!! Jk

I don't think I can ever get over her... And im not trying to. I am over getting upset when ever something is a hot mess like her BET performance. I don't get upset anymore. I have real life to worry about.

I will go see her next tour and bop to her new cd if it ever comes out!

And Get my LIFE when she shows all your new faves how's it done... like she did at the Fourth of July Macy's event.

I'll never be over her.

But a lot of the stuff that has happened for the last 5 years has been incredibly frustrating and what's even more frustrating is that a lot of it could be rectified so easily with just more effort, communication and organisation.

I am here thanks to Mario because he sent me a link to this thread on Facebook smiley: laugh

I am never going to be over her. Yes, things are messy and seem to be getting worse since E=MC², the sound of her recent releases is usually a reharsh from 2005, there are many problems with live performances, poor remixes, and a decent promo schedule. However, I love her and her music. The first thing that came into my mind when I thought about the question was how sweet she is, how she actually cares about people, how her music really touched me like no other artist. I am always interested in new Mariah, but I am over anticipating this new album, I have simply forgotten about it and moved to Katy, Coldplay, but I will go back to Mariah as soon as she starts promoting it again. Also, she is in the process of healing after a serious injury, she has her family now, and I also have some things going on in my life that make me think less about her career and more about me. Well, she will always have a place in my heart

YES! Same here.

I can't actually fathom ever not caring about Mariah. Even if in the future I won't be following her/her career as closely as I do now, I think I'll always feel the need to ocassionally check on how she's doing.

Don't make me feel guilty you guys smiley: laugh but for some reason i am kind of over her. Yes, Mariah the person, the singer...

The funny thing is that i have been a hardcore fan for over 19 years and have never felt this way before (she could do no wrong in my eyes).
I'll still stan for her music but i'm over her stubbornness, her lack of excitement over her career, her half assed performances, her and her "friends":  " you will have to deal with whatever mess is happening right now quietly or you're not a real fan" kind of attitude...
Maybe i'm just getting impatient as i get older, maybe i was just a fan of Mariah Carey the singer who cared about her career, i really don't know but honestly that is how i feel right now. Maybe i'll get over it, who knows.
I still love her music and will always support it but couldn't care less about her personal life, personality, performances....smiley: frown
I don't like feeling this way though, what the heck is happening to me? Help! smiley: laugh

I'm completely over this ERA already... ABSOLUTELY.

I feel NO single should have been released UNTIL the album was complete & a release date/promo plan was finalized and on the table.

The lackluster performances... The "Rent-A-Rapper" cut/paste remixes for EVERY damn thing... It's annoying.
Instead of her putting such an emphasis on these "Rent-A-Rapper" remixes... That unnecessary time NEED to be geared at her focusing on live performances.. rehearsing the sh*t instead of using backing-tracks & lip-syncing.

It's funny that people in her "YES" circle are so quick to call her a perfectionist and agree with her on this.. when we get BS of a performance that was the EBT Awards take.. or the backing-track MISS that was gma (with #Beautiful)..
NO MA'AM.

I say take the rest of 2013 off... figure this sh*t out... come back FOCUSED, COMPLETE, and a PLAN to excel with your music & fans!
