YES! This is great news and could make for a great song that could potentially be a hit while still maintaining the sound Mariah wants for the album.

This is cool. I'm glad she's working with someone new.

I wonder if she'll ever work with The-Dream again. Not that I want her to, I'm just curious since they seemed to be such good friends.

They made a few great records together (TMB, Obsessed, H.A.T.E.U.) and a TON of completely mediocre ones. I'd be really surprised to see them working together again especially after the public lynching the crazier Mariah fans gave him on twitter.

I love this news! Hope they do several songs together. Didn't Mariah and Q-Tip tweet each other recently about working together and that the last song they made together was #1?

After that horrible Triumphant single (yes, as a lead single or whatever you call it), I learned to not trust any producer/etc and not be too excited unless I hear the single. Lol!

Indeed. There wasn't overflowing chemistry between them anyway. For every H.A.T.E U, you got a dozen other mediocre tracks that were the definition of forgetable. I don't think her doing one or two tracks would be a disaster though. You never know, you may get one little gem that could make it onto the album.

I don't want her to work with The Dream again, but if they do I have a feeling The Dream will try to bring his A game. I'm sure he hasn't forgotten how it feels to get lambasted on twitter, once your work with MC underperforms. smiley: laugh

I agree. A couple of tracks with The Dream would be ok. I didn't like when he stated (not actual words) "We created the album like a greatest hits album", or something to that affect. I think they tried too hard. The songs by themselves aren't really bad but together as an album they blended too much together IMO.

I think Obsessed is one of the worst Mariah songs. But I agree with the rest. I'm generally not a fan of The Dream's style and music to begin with.  Btw, I can't believe he made a song with Kim Kardashian.smiley: laugh

The Dream was pretty hit-or-miss with Mariah. Obsessed, H.A.T.E.U., and Touch My Body would all rank within my top twenty favorite Mariah tracks, but I was underwhelmed with The Dream's production on most of the songs off Memoirs.

I don't think she will. She usually moves on from people when their stuff doesn't work/flops.

It funny to think The Dream was the producer of her last two big hits. I don't think she will ever do a major amount of work with him again, if any work at all but I would like to see what they would come up with on one other song.
